2023: Osun First Lady leads 10,000 women walk for Tinubu/Shettima in Osogbo

• Vows to prevent overvoting in Osun again

Osun State Governor’s wife, Kafayat Oyetola, has on Tuesday led over 10,000 women (Akoni Obinrin) in the state to march in support for the 2023 Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

She also vowed that the social political group, Akoni Obinrin (brave women) will not allow overvoting across the state in 2023 like it was recorded during 2022 Osun guber election.

The supporters of Tinubu/Shettima group led by Kafayat Oyetola started the march from Government House, Oke-Fia and walk through Alekuwodo, Ola-Iya, Odi-Olowo, Fagbewesa, Station road and Old Garage before they terminated the walk at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park.

While addressing journalists, Oyetola said, “this movement of Akoni Obinrin (Brave women) is a movement to deliver victory for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu because we are targeting 1 million votes for Tinubu/Shettima in 2023. So, we have decided to have a walk to mobilise support for them.

“From the experience of overvoting we had in 2022 governorship election, we will ensure proper monitoring of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS so as to prevent preloaded BVAS

“On the election day, we will go to our polling units to cast our votes, stay at the polling units to prevent rigging of any kind like it happened few month ago. We are ready to monitor our votes.”

“We have seen what he has done within and outside the country most especially when he was the governor of Lagos state, he is someone that accommodate everybody without tribal sentiment. With the good job he has done in Lagos state, we believe he will replicate it in the entire country.”

The Osun Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Gboyega Famodun said, “Voters registration in Nigeria indicated that there are more female electorate voters.
Women have more roles to play in determining who will win election. With todays action of women, victory is certain for Tinubu in 2023.”
