Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has led a special prayer session seeking divine intervention over the rising security challenges confronting the country.

The prayer, held on Sunday during the state government’s weekly Citizens’ Engagement programme, was organised in response to growing public concern over the escalating spate of kidnappings, including the recent abductions recorded in Kebbi, Niger, and Kwara States.

Governor Namadi stressed that Nigeria requires both spiritual guidance and collective national action to overcome its security difficulties. He said the situation demands unity, vigilance, and unwavering cooperation among citizens.

The session was led by Mujittaba Muhammad Yakub, the Special Assistant on Religious Affairs, who guided participants in offering prayers for the safe return of all abducted victims and for comfort for their families.

The gathering also appealed for sustained collaboration among Nigerians, reiterating that peace and unity remain essential pillars for national development. Participants further called for a collective resolve to end the insecurity threatening communities across the country.
