In a defining moment for youth leadership in Nigeria, Ambassador Muhammad Salisu Seeker, the Senior Special Assistant on Students’ Affairs to the Governor of Jigawa State, has been honoured with the prestigious “Africa’s Most Inspiring Youth in Governance” award. The recognition was presented on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at the Africa Intercontinental Conference & Global Awards held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
The award, which celebrates visionary young Africans transforming governance through innovation, dedication, and public service, places Seeker among the continent’s most promising voices in leadership.
Speaking after receiving the recognition, the young SSA described the honour as “a collective achievement” shared with all who have supported his mission to uplift students and empower young people across Jigawa State.
> “This award is not for me alone,” he said. “It belongs to everyone who believed in our shared vision for youth empowerment and student welfare.”
Salisu Seeker paid glowing tribute to His Excellency, Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, acknowledging the Governor’s fatherly guidance and unwavering confidence in young leaders. According to him, Governor Namadi’s mentorship has been the platform that allowed him to thrive in public service.
> “Your Excellency Sir, your leadership inspires us daily,” he affirmed.
He also dedicated the award to the students of Jigawa State and the members of the Danmodi Students Care Initiative, describing them as the true motivation behind his tireless efforts. Their resilience, he said, strengthens his commitment to continue advocating for their welfare and academic success.
In an emotional reflection, Seeker thanked his family for their steadfast support, prayers, and enduring sacrifices — a foundation he credits for every milestone in his journey. He equally appreciated the general public and well-wishers whose encouragement has sustained him over the years.
The SSA concluded with a prayer, seeking Allah’s continued blessings and guidance as he works to serve with sincerity, integrity, and excellence.
This continental honour not only underscores his rising influence in governance but also spotlights Jigawa State as a fertile ground for nurturing young, dynamic leaders.
