No fewer than 30,000 candidates across Jigawa State on Sunday participated in the 2026 Danmodi Students’ Care Free JAMB Examination, a flagship education intervention of the Jigawa State Government aimed at expanding access to tertiary education for youths.

The screening examination, conducted to select beneficiaries for the free JAMB PIN sponsorship for the 2026 academic session, was held simultaneously across the state under the Danmodi Students’ Care Programme, an initiative of the administration of Governor Malam (Dr.) Umar A. Namadi, FCA.

The exercise took place in 57 centres spread across the state and was supervised by 137 trained supervisors, ensuring strict adherence to laid-down guidelines, transparency, and fairness. Reports from the centres indicated a smooth and orderly process, with candidates conducting themselves in a disciplined and law-abiding manner.

Education stakeholders described the massive turnout and orderly conduct of the examination as a clear reflection of the growing enthusiasm for education among Jigawa youths, as well as the effectiveness of government policies targeted at reducing out-of-school rates and promoting equal educational opportunities.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, observers noted that the Danmodi Students’ Care initiative has become a critical tool in breaking financial barriers that often prevent talented students from pursuing higher education. By covering the cost of JAMB registration for qualified candidates, the Jigawa State Government is directly empowering young people to compete for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

The programme further underscores the Namadi administration’s strong commitment to human capital development, with education positioned as a cornerstone for sustainable growth and social transformation in the state.

Analysts also believe that sustained investment in initiatives such as Danmodi Students’ Care will not only improve literacy and school enrolment but also contribute to long-term economic development by producing a skilled and educated workforce.

As Jigawa continues to prioritize education as a key driver of development, the successful conduct of the 2026 free JAMB examination has reinforced public confidence in the state government’s resolve to ensure that no willing student is left behind due to financial constraints.
