Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ampang West Ward, the governor said his decision was driven by the need for a new political platform to better serve the people of Plateau State.
Mutfwang thanked the PDP for giving him the opportunity to participate in the democratic process and appreciated party leaders, members, and supporters for their backing over the years.
He explained that his decision was guided by his commitment to purposeful leadership, clear direction, and effective service delivery, stressing that current political realities made the move necessary.
Although the letter did not state his new party, reports indicate that the governor has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), where party leaders have already welcomed him
