40-yr-old man arraigned for stealing IBDEC Prepaid Card in Osogbo
The Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 40-year-old man, Orji Uzor Kanu before a Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, for allegedly stealing Prepaid Card property of Ibadan Electricity distribution Company.
Kanu arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on breach of peace and theft of Prepaid card belonging to IBEDC.
According to the charge sheet, the offence was committed on September 2, 2022 at Awosuru area in Osogbo.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun alleged that the defendant conducts himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace and fraudulently stole a prepaid Card belonging to IBEDC.
The offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 390(E) section 249 and Section 390 of the Criminal Code cap 34 Volume ll laws of State of Nigeria 2022.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the two counts charge.
The defense counsel, Eze Ngwoke urged the court to grant bail to the defendant, while noting that the offences he was charged with were bailable under the law.
In his ruling, Magistrate A.K Ajala granted the defendant bail in the sum of 50,000 with one surety. He said the surety must swear to affidavit of mean, provide two passport photograph and must be a resident of Osun.
He thereafter adjourned the case to January 17, 2023.
