50 Repentant Thugs Recruited as Constabularies In Kano
The Kano State Police command has selected fifty repentant thugs from the two hundred and twenty-two who decided to embrace peace offered by the state command’s commissioner of police, Muhammad Hussaini Gumel.
CP Gumel while addressing the Fifty selected repentant thugs during the passing out parade Monday, revealed that the initiative was born cognisance of the repentant thugs’ commitment to ensuring peace in the State hence the police trained them in classes, in the field and kitted them as members of the Special Constabulary.
The CP while expressing delight for the momentous achievement of transforming them into reasonable persons in the society, armed with zeal and the quest to protect the citizens they hitherto mercilessly rendered sleepless said that the police Command has recorded a total of two hundred and twenty-two thugs that honestly repent, surrendered themselves and promised never to engage in thuggery activities of any form nor engage in any other social vices that have been bedevilling the State.
Today, they have proved to us that the security of Kano is their concern and they will not allow any insecurity elements to jeopardize the peace being enjoyed in the State.” CP Gumel Said
The Commissioner of Police also lectured the supervising Police Officers of the Command to inculcate in them the paedagogies of the force professionalism, and discipline and to use their skills to project the community policing.
While reiterating that any officer who cannot inspire public confidence or gain their trust does not qualify for any sensitive office, CP Gumel charged them to redouble their efforts and further directed the officers to ensure they work closely with the members of the Special Constabulary posted back to their communities.
