Sam Larry Explains How N2m Led To His Brawl With Mohbad

Sam Larry, a cogent suspect alleged of involvement in Mohbad’s death has explained that the deceased owes him 2million.

Recall, that Sam Larry aide to Naira Marley got to Nigeria this morning and is now in police custody.

A viral video recently shook the Nigerian music scene, showing Sam Larry confronting Mohbad in a heated altercation. This raised speculations and concerns among fans and the media. Many cast Sam Larry as the primary suspect in Mohbad’s untimely death.

In response to the rumors and allegations, Sam Larry has released a press statement addressing the incident. In the statement, he vehemently denies any involvement in Mohbad’s death.

According to Sam Larry’s statement, the incident was gravely misconstrued. He explains that the confrontation stemmed from a financial dispute rather than any sinister intentions. Sam Larry reveals that he had paid Mohbad two million Naira to perform at his mother’s bridal ceremony.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Mohbad failed to honor his commitment and perform at the event as agreed upon. Sam Larry claims that he tried to resolve the matter amicably and request a refund of the money but his attempts were unsuccessful. Hearing that Mohbad was shooting a music video nearby, Sam Larry decided to approach him to discuss the outstanding issue, leading to the confrontation captured in the viral video.

According to the statement, Sam Larry said two years ago, I gave Ileri N2m to perform at my mother’s annual remembrance concert in Ikorodu. However, he never turned up. So, I called him to ask why. He then claimed that he was not feeling well and when I asked for a refund, he said he lost his phone and money recently during an NDLEA raid.

Since he was leaving Marlian Records, he claimed to be broke with no commitment to repay.

Later, I heard that this same boy was shooting a music video next door, practically on the next street to my house. I went there to ask for my money again, and we had a 5-minute argument.

One of his friends even insisted that he would pay the money. Till today, they have not paid me a single kobo. This happened early last year. Since then, I have moved on and traveled to Kenya to find a new African act for my mother’s concert this year. I have been away since August 20, and I don’t know anything about Mohbad other than what was written in the blogs and press. I don’t even know where he lives. I only know his former label boss and their house. I don’t know any nurse, doctor, hospital, or anything about his movement. I don’t have time for that. I have lost more money than that before. You win some, you lose some.
