Legislative workers shut state assemblies

No fewer than 15 states across the federation, on Monday, shut down their respective state Houses of Assembly and began a nationwide industrial action.

Members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, are on indefinite strike, following the expiration of the ultimatum for the implementation of financial autonomy by state Assemblies in the country.

Daily Impact correspondence was at the Osun State House of Assembly on Tuesday 31st October at 10 am and the gate was locked.

On the gate are placards with words saying “Governor Adeleke obey the constitution” and “No Financial autonomy,  no retreat ”

Other states on strike include, Edo, Abia, Sokoto, Nasarrawa, Kano, Delta, Ogun, Ondo, Zamfara, Anambra, Benue, Kaduna, Lagos, Kastina and Osun.
