VIDEO: Angry Mob Burn Set Two Robbers Ablaze In Onitsha
Two suspected armed robbers who are reportedly brothers met their Waterloo in the early morning of Wednesday as an angry mob set them ablaze and watched them burn to ashes.
Sources at the scene told Journalist101 that luck ran out for the two suspected identified as Omaume and Monday as they attempted to dispossess a trader of his belongings at Haruna by Sokoto Road main market Onitsha, Anambra state.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the Anambra Police Command condemned the jungle justice, but described the suspects as the boys of a notorious armed robber, Itanda, who’s currently serving his term at the correctional centre following his arrest.
Preliminary information reveals that the two suspects, who were later identified as Omaume and Monday both male are boys of Itanda; a notorious armed robber and already in the Custodial Center, Awka.
He and his gang members have been fingered to be responsible for attacks and the dispossessing of traders’ personal belongings at the main market, Onitsha.
Ikenga added that the Commissioner of Police CP Aderemi Adeoye has condemned the act and reiterated his call for the members of the public to take suspects apprehended to the nearest Police Station.
This would afford the Police the opportunity to conduct an appropriate investigation into the nefarious activities of the suspects.
Meanwhile, CP has ensured a discreet investigation into the incident.
