Day 6: OSHA continues budget defence
During the ongoing budget defense at the OSHA, Hon Saheed Fatunmise, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Osun’s 8th Assembly, urged the Osun Mass Education Agency to enhance the utility of Mega schools within the state.
Hon Fatunmise emphasized the importance of thorough budget analysis for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, urging them to contribute positively to the state’s revenue. He stated that legislative measures would address any issues hindering revenue growth.
In his welcome address, Hon Fatunmise highlighted the legislators’ responsibility to ensure transparency and accountability in financial decisions. During the budget summary sessions, lawmakers questioned officials from various agencies, seeking ways to fulfill sectoral needs and boost revenue for the state’s development.
Hon Fatunmise applauded committee members and lawmakers for their contributions to the successful exercise, which involved presentations from entities such as the Ministry of Education, Osun Mass Education Agency, and others, all defending their proposed budgets for 2024.
