Speaker OSHA Applauds House Committee on Finance and Appropriation as Retirement Age Bill Secures Approval
The Osun State House of Assembly, Speaker Rt. Honourable Adewale Egbedun commended the Chairman and members of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Osun’s 8th Assembly for the completion of the budget defence, which ended yesterday.
The Speaker disclosed this at the sitting of the house today.
Today’s agenda featured the third reading of the Osun State High Court, customary court of appeal, registrar, secretary to the state Judicial Service Commission and state council in the state, ministry of justice, state magistrate and District customary court president retirement age bill 2023
The Clerk of the House presented the bill for the third reading, marking a significant development in the state’s legislative landscape.
The bill was successfully passed with a notable amendment raising the retirement age to sixty-five (65) with the addition that Thirty-Five (35) years in Service at retirement age also stands and Whichever comes first is applicable.
The Speaker adjourned the sitting of the house to Thursday, December 2023.Speaker Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun emphasized that the bill’s definitive version will be crafted and sent to Governor Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for approval.
