Nation building: Irekandu charges public officers to be accountable

Honourable Adewumi Adeyemi, Irekandu, Osun State House of Assembly member, representing the Obokun constituency has urged members of the League of Veteran Journalists in Osun State to act as advocates, asking their political representatives the right questions and holding them accountable for nation-building.

Adeyemi disclosed this during the gathering of the League of Veteran Journalists in Osun state, coinciding with the 36th edition of the Frontiers, and May Day 2024, hosted by Barrister Ajisafe, National Vice Chairman (South West) of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Frontliners is a flagship program held every month by the League of Veteran Journalists in Osun to deepen discussions on democracy through the exchange of information between the government and the people for the development of the country.

In his opening remarks, Irekandu emphasized the mass failure in the just-concluded JAMB exams, stating that the League of Veteran Journalists’ platform will serve as a space to ask the right questions about the decadence of our educational system.

Similarly, during the Q&A session at the 36th edition of the Frontiers, Barrister Ajisafe remarked that Governor Adeleke has carried this natural trait into governance.

The PDP chieftain added that the success which has trailed the execution of government infrastructural policy within one year continues to send shock waves into the camps of the opposition, particularly those who have dubbed Governor Adeleke a dancing governor.
