Police arraigns 7 before court over attack on governor’s wife
Osun State Police Command has arraigned seven persons,Omolola Paul, Rasaki Hammed, Soliu Waheed, Tiamiyu Basiru, Olayiwola John,, Owoade Mutiu, and Ibrahim Tunde. before an Osogbo Magistrate Court, for allegedly attacking wife of the state Governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola.
They were arraigned on four-count charge bordering on conspiracy, felony, serious assault and malicious damage.
Addressing the court, Police Prosecutor, Inspector Asanbe Kayode informed that the suspects with others at large caused breach of public peace by attacking wife of Osun state governnor, Mrs oyetola and inflicted injuries on her aide Mr. Benson Oyebode and a DSS officer, Mr. Femi Alabi by throwing stone on them.
All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the offences which are contrary to and punishable under Section 516, 249, 451(b), 356(2) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.
The presiding magistrate, I.R Salami, granted the prayer of the defence counsel, S.A. Gbenle by admitting the defendants on bail in the sum of #500,000 and two sureties in like sum .
The court adjourned to 26th September, 2022 for hearing.
