Adeleke Advocates Unity At Osun PDP Stakeholders Meeting
Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling electoral promises, emphasizing that more positive developments are on the horizon.
Adeleke gave the assurance while speaking at the Osun State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Stakeholders Meeting held at the Government House in Osogbo.
The governor, also announced the conclusion of the EndBadGovernance protest in Osun after a government delegation met with protesters and assured them their demands would be forwarded to the President.
He stressed the importance of unity within the party, particularly as the local government elections approach, which he deemed crucial for the 2026 elections.
Adeleke appealed to party members to avoid internal conflicts and refrain from airing grievances on social media, urging them to resolve issues privately to prevent giving the opposition any advantage.
He called for strict adherence to party discipline and decisions, highlighting the need for collective efforts to ensure the party’s success and re-election.
Acknowledging the efforts of the party leadership, Adeleke assured members that the government would continue to deliver on its promises.
He highlighted the administration’s achievements, including keeping Osun’s money within the state and ensuring all contractors are actively working on various projects.
He urged appointees and party leaders to focus on their responsibilities, emphasizing the significance of their roles and the sacrifices made to attain their current positions.
while mentioning several initiatives, such as the payment of bursaries to students, disbursement of nearly 4 billion naira to corporate bodies, road and bridge construction, clearing of salary backlogs, and renovation of health centers and educational facilities that his administration has embarked on, He also announced upcoming programs like the Imole Youth Corps and teachers’ recruitment.
Governor Adeleke, therefore, called on all members to support his administration and the party, aiming to showcase the PDP as a progressive party dedicated to the state’s growth and development
He, also encouraged collaboration to make Osun State a model for others and create a prosperous future for upcoming generations.
While speaking, Osun state People’s Democratic chairman PDP Mr. Sunday Bisi said the aim of the meeting is to dispell rumors that the party or government intended to impose candidates for local government positions.
He affirmed that democracy allows individuals to exercise their civic rights and aspire to any position. Bisi advised everyone to participate peacefully in the local government elections, ensuring the process remains orderly and does not hinder the governor’s efforts to advance the state.
Bisi emphasized that the best candidates should emerge through a fair and non-violent process, further strengthening the party’s unity and focus on progress.
