Popular Nollywood Actor, Saidi Balogun Loses Daughter
Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has lost his first child, Zeenat Balogun, in the cold hands of death and his ex-wife, Faithia Balogun Williams mourned with him.
Saidi Balogun disclosed this on his Instagram page on Saturday, October 5 as he shared a heart-wrenching image of a flickering candle surrounded by flowers, a sign of the light now extinguished in his life.
According to reports gathered, Saidi Balogun, who fathered four children, was in the middle of a stage performance at Terra Kulture on Friday when he received the devastating news of his daughter’s death.
Actress Faithia Williams, who is Saidi’s ex-wife and former stepmother of the late Zinat, also shared her grief on Instagram.
She wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un” (from Allah we come, to Him we shall return).”
Saidi’s colleague Ronke Oshodi Oke paid tribute on Instagram by posting an image of a candle.She captioned the post, “No words can ease the pain of losing someone so precious. My heart goes out to you @saidibalogun during this incredibly difficult time. May you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.”
Other notable actors including Kunle Afod, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Adeniyi Johnson have also extended their condolences.
As at the time of filing this report the cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
