Osun Assembly Considers Osun State multi-door court house establishment bill 2023
Osun State House of Assembly OSHA has reteireated it consideration on the Osun State multi-door court house established bill 2023.
The bill which passed it’s second reading today is a private member Bill by lawmaker Mr. Femi Popoola.
While Presenting key policy objectives of the bill at the plenary, Lawmaker Popoola said it has the potential to provide diverse options for dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and conciliation.
The bill contains that there should be an established body to be known as the Osun State Multi-door court house, ( OSMDC).
According to the bill, the bill aims to create an alternative and effective way to settle dispute and reduce the extent to which litigation undergo long settlement process of hearing in the court.

During deliberations, Hon, Adewumi Adeyemi, Irekandu representing Obokun State Constituency emphasised the need for the bill as a means to eradicate pilling up of cases for years of legal hearing and easier way of settling dispute in a short time.
Addressing the parliament, the Speaker, Mr. Adewale Egbedun, who highlighted the importance of the bill, noted that “it aligns with global best practices in judicial administration and reflects a commitment to modernising the state’s legal framework.
“As Osun State moves forward with this initiative, it is anticipated that the establishment of multi-door courts will lead to a more efficient and responsive judiciary, enhancing access to justice for all citizens.”
He added that the “introduction of the Osun State Multi-Door Court Establishment Bill is seen as a significant step towards improving the legal landscape in the region, and stakeholders are optimistic about its potential.”
