“Why Am I posting about this? Because this is a very important topic. You ask what Buhari and Tinubu could’ve done without high oil price? They could’ve pursued other big revenue sources like tech. It was during APC’s government that AI really took off in the world, but what did Nigeria do? Nothing but blaming 16 years of PDP leadership, 16 years of Nigeria’s biggest growth till date since 1999.
In 2013 Kenya officially launched the Konza Technolpolis project which was designed to be Africa’s own version of Silicon Valley. This project showcased that Kenya was serious about being the tech center of Africa, and when AI took off, Kenya became its place of outsourcing.
AI’s rapid growth today, is in part, due to the affordability of outsourcing aspects of it to developing economies while the developed economies focus on leveraging these technologies to build realworld products like cars.
Nigeria needs innovative leadership, that is, leadership that encourages and supports innovation, not one that seeks to divide Nigerians and the country for political gain.
