Uphold Citizens’ Welfare, Grand Chief Imam of Offa Urges Leaders at Osun Assembly Ramadan Lecture

Leaders, political officeholders, and heads of governmental organizations have been urged to prioritize the welfare of citizens and their subordinates.
The Grand Chief Imam of Offa, Kwara State, Sheik Muideen Salmon, gave this charge during the annual Ramadan lecture organized by the Osun State House of Assembly (OSHA). The lecture, titled “Duties of Leaders and Followers,” was held at the OSHA premises in Osogbo.
Sheik Salmon emphasized that true leadership requires selflessness, motivation, and the ability to inspire and energize followers while fostering a positive and productive environment. He urged political leaders to guide their people towards prosperity and serve with integrity.
He also outlined the responsibilities of followers, which include obedience to leadership, adherence to societal rules, humility, and courage.
In his remarks, OSHA Speaker, Prince Adewale Egbedun, called on well-meaning individuals to extend support to the needy during and beyond the Ramadan period. He also encouraged Muslim faithful to pray for Nigeria’s growth, emphasizing that national progress benefits everyone.
The event featured special prayers for the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Speaker Prince Adewale Egbedun, members of the Osun State House of Assembly, the state, and the nation as a whole.
