Tinubu prays for PDP at APC Presidential Campaign rally in Jos

Social media is currently abuzz about a gaffe made by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the launch of his 2023 campaigns.

President Muhammadu Buhari and other top party officials attended the presidential campaign launch in Jos, Plateau State.

As he was wrapping up his remarks, he made the embarrassing gaffe of referring to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when he meant to say his own.

“…I return control to the party chairman before he punishes me for keeping the President on the spot.” The national chairman has been called and asked to extend an invitation to the President. For the time being, at least, this portion of the ceremony is over. Please accept my gratitude and the prayers of everyone praying for you and for the people of Nigeria. He then prayed, “God bless PD…APC.”

And this isn’t the first time Tinubu has made a public blunder.

The APC presidential candidate similarly flubbed an interview in July because he couldn’t remember the name of his party.

While addressing his party’s supporters, Tinubu almost referred to the APC as the “Action Congress.”

One of the helpers standing next to him promptly set him straight.

In October, he made waves on the internet by saying that Nasir El-Rufai, governor of Kaduna State, wants to “transform a rotten situation into a horrible one.”

Rumors began circulating that Tinubu, who had recently returned from London, might be suffering from dementia after the incident.

Speaking at the Kaduna State Investment Promotion Agency’s sixth annual KadInvest conference.

We can’t let you disappear now that we’ve reached this crucial juncture when your foresight, innovation, and fortitude are so essential to reversing the current downward spiral. And that’s why we’re here today, Tinubu said to El-Rufai.

It has been reported that APC Presidential Candidate Tinubu avoids debate to avoid embarrassing himself.
