Oldest Medical Centre: Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro in Abeokuta

In case you don’t know, the first and oldest medical hospital in Nigeria is located in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Established in 1895 by Catholic Missionaries, the Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro, was originally built to fight leprosy outbreak in Nigeria.

The hospital is still run by the Catholics till date.
