Governor Adeleke present cheques to 40 communities during Osun micro projects launch

As part of his mandate and campaign promises to prioritize the people of the State in his government, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke through the office of the Osun Community and Social Development Agency(OSUN CSDA) has presented cheques of #518 million to not fewer than 40 communities in the State for implementation of various social intervention projects.

While presenting the cheques to the benefiting communities on Thursday in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke said the program is part of steps to revamp public utilities and infrastructural development within the first 100 days of his administration.

The Osun Cares Micro projects scheme is an emergency program which is meant to cushion the effects of COVID-19 among the people, it is also a World Bank assisted program.

Adeleke, however, assured the people of Osun State of providing an enabling environment for social and economic development efforts to thrive.

“Today’s program is part of the step to revamp public utilities and infrastructure within the first 100 days of our administration. This administration has provide an enabling environment for development efforts to thrive.

“This development cannot come as a surprise to anyone because at the inception of our administration, we have left no one in doubt as to my commitment towards the giant strive of the communities to a footprint of our 5-point development agenda.

“This ceremony is geared towards achieving this great goal, we enjoined our good people of Osun State to keep a date with us and we promise that we shall never disappoint you”, he said.

Speaking earlier, the General Manager of Osun State Community and Social Development Agency, Osun CSDA, Mrs Aderonke Abokede said implementation of the micro projects will solve fundamental social and community problems that will address developmental challenges and also bring succour to the people.

She added that 40 communities benefited from the micro project scheme and #518 million is the total amount shared in varied sum to the communities.

Speaking on behalf of the benefiting communities, Mr Samson Adelomo lauded the Governor, World Bank and Osun CSDA for making the project an achievable one.
