Aba Residents Knock Otti Over Flooded, Dilapidated Road, Resort To Canoe Boats

In the video, the residents lamented that they are being compelled by the flood to make bamboo canoes to enable them access the road.

Residents and business owners within and around Nkwo Ngwa market in Aba, Abia State, have lamented and berated the state Governor, Alex Otti, over their flooded bad road.

The residents lamented their suffering in a video obtained by SaharaReporters on Monday which showed a road identified as Obohia road, flooded and making it difficult for people to pass or do their businesses.

In the video, the residents lamented that they are being compelled by the flood to make bamboo canoes to enable them access the road.

The residents and business owners accused Governor Alex Otti’s administration of engaging in social media propaganda to hype his administration while “he is only patching roads constructed by the previous government.”

Speaking in Igbo language, one of the people, believed to be the person who recorded the video said, “People are making bamboo canoes to be used in Aba but if you go to social media, they will say they have constructed all the roads in Aba. That Aba is number one in road construction with the number one governor.

“See how people are holding their footwear while swimming in water. This is Nkwo Ngwa, Aba, a business area that generates money in Abia State.

“People are suffering. See how people are suffering in Aba. This is a business area. People are suffering.

“Our governor please come and help us. Leave social media. People are posting on social media that they are working in Aba. What they are doing is patching places that had been worked.

“Please, governor, come and help us. This is Obohia road, Nkwo Ngwa market. There is nothing the governor is doing but they are telling us that the governor is working.”
