Adeleke Appoints New Governing Council Chairman For Osun College
The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed an educationist, Mr Akinyele Sarafa Adeyemi, as the new Governing Council Chairman of the Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun.
The appointment was contained in a statement on Friday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
Mr Adeyemi replaces Dr Peter Babalola, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party who resigned his appointment after a controversial tenure at the Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun.
Recall in August 2024, it was reported that members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Irewole Local Government area of the state, nominated Akinyele to replace Babalola.
Adeyemi who holds a first and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Ibadan is a retired principal of the Federal Girls College, Ipetumodu.
The swearing in ceremony for the new Council Chairman holds by 10AM on Monday at the EXCO lounge.
