Akeredolu: Ondo works commissioner resigns

Ondo State Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, Engr. Raimi Aminu, has resigned from his appointment.

The decision comes just 24 hours after the demise of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the subsequent inauguration of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the new governor of Ondo State.

Aminu, who was appointed by the late governor, submitted his resignation letter on Thursday.

In his resignation letter addressed to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), he expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Ondo State.

The Infrastructure Commissioner, who had served as Special Adviser to Akeredolu on Lands, Works, and Infrastructure, cited the demise of his boss for his decision to step down from his position.

Aminu said, “I write to tender my resignation from my appointment as the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing with effect from today, December 28, 2023.

This decision is anchored in my conscience as my leader and dear boss, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, joined the Saint Triumphant.

According to them, the death of their principal was the reason behind their move, stressing that even in death, they will be loyal to the late Akeredolu.
