Bakare installed as new Muhazin of Ijesaland
Eminent personalities covered the Ilesa Central Mosque on Friday for the installation of Islamic scholar Ustadz Abdulazeez Bakare as the new Muhazin of Ijesaland.
The revered position became vacant following the demise of Alhaji Solihu Akerele, who was the last holder of the office.
Prominent among dignitaries at the occasion were the Grand Chief Imam of Ijesaland, Alhaji Sheik Muhammadu Jamiu Idris; the Naibuli Imam of Ijesaland, Alhaji Mudasir Qasim; the Grand Mufasir of Ijesaland, Alhaji Sheik Semiu Alli Amokeoja; the chairman of the Ijesa Muslim Community, Alhaji Jimoh Akeem Oyeleye; and the Imams of Ratibi mosques.
While presenting the certificate of office to the new Muhazin, the Grand Chief Imam of Ijesland, Alhaji Sheik Muhammadu Jamiu Idris, described Ustadz Abdulazeez Bakare as a devoted Muslim with a humble personality who is always ready to serve his creator, Allah, and the Muslim Ummah.
Sheik Jamiu Idris, who disclosed that he has no doubts about the competence and capacity of Abdulazeez Bakare to deliver in his new roles, urged him to see his new position as a test from Allah and an opportunity to contribute towards the upliftment of Islam.
He also called on the new Muhazin to be committed to the new task and always lead by example at all times.
Addressing newsmen after the installation, Ustadz Abdulazeez Bakare thanked the Grand Chief Imam of Ijesaland, Alhaji Sheik Muhammadu Jamiu Idris, his deputy, and the Grand Mufasir of Ijesland, Alhaji Sheik Semiu Alli Amokeoja, and other eminent personalities for gracing the occasion.
Bakare, who pledged that he would not disappoint the people, further disclosed that he will work with all Islamic titles and organizations to grow Islam in Ijesaland.
The turbanning was carried out by the representative of the Grand Mufasir of Ijesaland, Alhaji Sheik Semiu Alli Amokeoja, while the certificate of office was presented by the Grand Chief Imam of Ijesaland, Alhaji Sheik Muhammadu Jamiu Idris.
