CAN mourns RCCG pastor killed by kidnapper

Kidnapper kill pastor and abduct some church members

The last day of June, pastor Kayode Oluwakemi, the pastor of Redeemed Christian Church of God met death in the hands of kidnappers while in church for vigil.

The Christian Association of Nigeria in Ogun State,  where the church is located xpressed sadness over the killing of a pastor, Kayode Oluwakemi, by kidnappers.

The kidnappers after killing the pastor abducted seven worshippers all of whom had been rescued in the state.

The kidnappers stormed the church premises while the churchgoers were conducting a vigil at the


Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, at Abule-Ori, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The spokesperson of CAN, the General Secretary, CAN, Dr Stephen Adeyemi, urged the government to step up efforts to stop insecurity around worship centres in the state.

Expressing displeasure he said, It is a very sad incident and asked if going to a place of worship is now a crime in the state.

The State So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, while confirming the incident, said his officers killed one of the kidnappers, adding that the abducted victims had been rescued.
