Day 9 Budget presentation: Osun Microfinance Agency propose to disburse loan in 2024
During the ongoing budget defence at the OSHA, Hon Saheed Fatunmise, Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Osun’s 8th Assembly, urged the Osun Microfinance Agency to keep to their words of making loans available to the people of Osun in 2024.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation in Osun’s 8th Assembly, Hon Saheed Fatunmise, said this in response to the commissioner of Osun Microfinance Agency, Commissioner Olagunju Mutiu’s budget presentation.
Commissioner Olagunju disclosed this while delivering the agency’s 2024 budget to the Honourable House of the Osun State Assembly.
Commissioner Olagunju Mutiu, while presenting the agency’s budget, said that individual loans of #150,000 with interest of 9% will be made available to the people to stop the people from collecting the Lapo loan.
He reiterated that the Lapo loan has disgraced many citizens and has even made some commit suicide.
Adding that the loan will be made available to to individuals in the state to pay back within a year, so that the loan can go round amongst the people in the state.
He explained that the loans will be made available to all 322 wards for Market women, youth and organization and the process of collecting the loan involves buying a form and provision of a guarantor.
Other agency who made 2024 budget presentations such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Osun State Tourism Board,
Ministry of Culture and Tourism,
Osun State Council for Arts and Culture,
Ministry of Youth Affairs,
Ministry of Sports and Special Needs,
Osun State Sports Council,
Ministry of Commerce and Industries all defended their proposed budgets for 2024.
