DSS Blocks Omoyele Sowore’s Entry to Supreme Court for Nnamdi Kanu’s Verdict
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the last election, was denied entrance into the premises of the Supreme Court by the Department of State Services (DSS) to witness the sitting for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Upon sighting Sowore’s car, DSS operatives at the entrance of the court stated, ‘No access for Sowore.
Sowore revealed the incident through X, accusing the DSS operatives of being “unruly” to him at the court’s gate.
He expressed his frustration, stating, “I tried attending the Supreme Court ruling for #FreeNnamdiKanuNow this morning but was denied access by an unruly team of @OfficialDSSNG officers stationed at the gate of the #SupremeCourtofNigeria screaming #NoAccessforSowore.
Sowore also implied a political agenda, saying, “It was shameful and this tells that the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu is an @OfficialAPCNg official position. The regime of Bola Tinubu @officialABAT is in on it.
Today, the Supreme Court will decide the fate of the IPOB leader, who has been detained since June 2021.
