Eid-El-Fitr: Osun Police Deploy Personnel To Osun Worship Centres

In preparation for a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Osun State Police Command has announced the deployment of personnel to strategic locations, including worship centres, highways, and other vulnerable points across the state.
The deployment, according to the Command, is part of its broader security architecture aimed at ensuring the safety of lives and property during the festive period and the subsequent public holidays slated for Monday , 31st March and Tuesday, 1st April, 2025.
In a press release issued on Friday, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Akeem Adeoye, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Umar Abba, had directed the mobilisation of tactical units and logistics to forestall any breach of public peace.
The statement noted that Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and heads of tactical units have been instructed to ensure that criminals are not given room to operate in their jurisdictions.
“We have rejigged our security architecture to guarantee the safety of lives and property throughout the Eid-el-Fitr celebration and beyond. Policemen have been deployed to all nooks and crannies of the state, with particular attention to highways and worship centres,” the statement read.
While urging residents to go about their lawful activities without fear, the Command called on parents and guardians to caution their wards against any acts capable of disrupting public order.
“Parents and guardians must take proper care of their wards and advise them to steer clear of actions that could lead to public disorder,” the PPRO added.
The Commissioner also congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan and enjoined them, alongside other residents, to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movement to security operatives.
Residents were further encouraged to provide timely and useful information to the Police through the following emergency lines: 08039537995, 08123823981, and 08075872433.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, we must remain vigilant. Security is everyone’s responsibility. Let us continue to support security agencies with prompt and useful information,” the CP stated.
