Face your job, stop meddling in Osun politics — Osun voters league advises Osun INEC REC

A group identified as Osun Voters League (OVL) has advised the Resident Electoral Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State, Dr Mutiu Agboke to face his job and stop meddling in Osun politics.

In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Coordinator of the League, Wole Adedoyin, expressed concern over the recent reports of the INEC boss, Dr Mutiu Agboke interfering in the state’s political activities. The League stated that the role of INEC is to conduct free, fair, transparent elections and not to engage in partisan politics.

The group emphasized that the involvement of Osun REC in politics undermines the integrity of the commission and calls into question its impartiality.

They stated that the commission must maintain its impartiality and remain neutral at all times to ensure the credibility of the electoral process.

The OVL also called on the INEC boss, Dr Mutiu Agboke to concentrate on his job and fulfill his responsibilities to the people of Osun. The League stated that the INEC boss must ensure that the electoral process is transparent and that the results are credible.

The OVL also advised the INEC boss, Dr Mutiu Agboke to stay away from political activities that may compromise the integrity of the commission. The League stated that it is essential for the INEC boss to maintain his neutrality and impartiality to ensure that the people of Osun have confidence in the electoral process.

The statement reads; “Osun REC involvement in politics will have potential impact on the credibility of future elections in Osun. The League stated that the INEC must maintain its independence and impartiality to ensure that future elections are free, fair, and transparent.

“Dr Mutiu Agboke should focus on his job and to work towards ensuring that the electoral process in Osun is transparent, credible, and free from any form of interference.

“INEC must remain impartial and neutral to ensure that the people of Osun have confidence in the electoral process.”
