FLASH : CBN Deputy governor released from DSS detention

The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in charge of Economic Policy Dr Kingsley Obiora from detention.

The release was confirmed by a source close to Obiora on Saturday afternoon, and that Obiora spent some days with the DSS.

The source, who is an official of the CBN, said he had no knowledge of what transpired between Obiora and DSS while in detention.

Obiora’s arrest by the DSS is seen as part of a wider crackdown on senior officials of the CBN, which began with the suspension of Governor Godwin Emefiele.
