Give PDP Chance to Fix Nigeria –Seyi Makinde
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is determined to take all necessary steps to restore the party and contribute positively to Nigeria.
Makinde made this declaration on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Board of Governors and the unveiling of the Roadmap for the Peoples Democratic Institute (PDP).
The PDI, established in 2000, serves as the research arm of the PDP, aimed at fostering a new democratic culture in Nigeria and across Africa through education, training, capacity building, research, and documentation programs.
He emphasized the importance of revitalizing the PDP, saying, “We will fix the PDP, and in turn, the PDP will fix Nigeria, which will create genuine hope for the Nigerian people.”
As the 2027 elections approach, Makinde asserted that the PDP must offer real hope for the nation: “By revitalizing the PDI, we are providing tangible hope for our citizens.”
He highlighted the need for clear direction in the country, noting that Nigerians are looking to the PDP for an ideological foundation.
With the inauguration of the new board, he believes the PDP is now better positioned to define its core ideology. Makinde urged politicians and leaders in positions of power to reflect on how they wish to be remembered.
The Oyo governor reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening both the PDP and the nation’s democracy.
