Ibadan Explosion: Osun Speaker Commiserates with Gov. Makinde

The Speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has commiserated with the Government and people of Oyo State on the tragic explosion that rocked different parts of Ibadan, the state capital on Tuesday evening.

The Speaker of the Osun state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, disclosed this in a statement Signed by Olamide Tiamiyu, Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, OSHA.

He describes the explosion that claimed lives and destroyed private and public property as most unfortunate, Egbedun sympathised with those affected by the blast.

The speaker called for calm as the Oyo State government investigates the cause of the explosion and puts necessary measures in place to alleviate the impacts of the blast. Speaker Egbedun, however, advocated inter-agency collaboration from government to unravel the circumstances behind the explosion with a view to preventing further re-occurence.

The Speaker noted that insecurity has risen to feverish heights in different parts of the country and remarks that Nigerians needed to be extra careful in the usage of machinery and gadgets that can trigger explosions of several kinds.

He prayed to God to grant succour to the families of those who lost their loved ones and property as a result of the unfortunate incident.
