I’m your stepping stone to the presidency – Atiku tells Igbo

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar claims he will serve as a springboard for an Igbo administration.

When Atiku launched his campaign for the South-East geographical zone, he said this in the capital of Anambra State, Awka.

“I will serve as the first step toward Igbo presidency in this nation. Over the years, I’ve accomplished it through my actions, language, and character.

Vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket if you genuinely want to produce the president of this nation, he advised.

Additionally, Atiku pledged to construct every erosion site and dredge the Onitsha port to make it operational.

He noted that he never anticipated such a large gathering and expressed his happiness with the attendance.

Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the PDP, also spoke at the campaign site and urged the residents of Anambra State to register to vote and support Atiku.

“Listen to Atiku and cast your vote for him. Sometimes a son is preferable to an in-law. We are here because Atiku would make the country a better place. Hold on to your PVCs and cast your vote for us, he said.

Earlier, when Atiku visited with the traditional leaders of Anambra, he pledged to ensure security and bring Nigerians together by treating each zone fairly.

According to him, the nation will never experience progress without security, peace, and unity.

“As president, it is my goal and duty to reunite Nigeria, establish peace, and guarantee the nation’s citizens appropriate security. I’ll give each section its due consideration, he promised.

The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, the chairman of the Anambra State traditional rulers, declared during the meeting that the monarchs are non-partisan and will only support the victor.

He asserts that their duties include leading and managing the affairs of their own communities through prayer.

He encouraged the candidates to solicit support from the broader population.

“We hope to elect a president who will foster national harmony, peace, and security. We hope the best for you,” he remarked.
