Governor Ademola Adeleke flags off the Imole Agropreneur Model Project in Imesi Ile, a flagship initiative designed to revolutionize Osun State’s Agricultural landscape.
Governor Adeleke Ademola declares the opening yesterday at the site of Imesi-Ile flagship.
While delivering his speech, Governor Ademola Adeleke appreciated the good people of Imesi-Ile, noting that agriculture is the cornerstone of the state.
The initiative is towards ensuring food security through improved and mechanized farming practices and preserve agricultural value chain, our administration has developed/implemented the following policies and programmes across the State:
– Allocation of 1,000 hectares of farmland for the Agri-preneur initiative in each 30 Local Governments and Area Office across the State;
– Clearing and cultivation of 50,000 hectares of farmland with modern farm technology to empower 50,000 Youths in Agriculture;
– Distribution of 6,000 packs of vegetable seedlings, 8,000 litres of herbicides, 8,000 cassava cuttings, 80,000 cashew seedlings, and fertilizers to farmers;
– Raising of 500,000 cocoa seedlings and 300,000 oil-palm seedlings for distribution to dedicated farmers during the 2025 rainy season;
– Empowered Poultry Farmers under the Osun Broilers Out-grower Production Scheme (OBOPS) with ₦8.6 million each;
– Commenced the construction of central abattoirs in Iwo, Oriade, and Irepodun Local Government Areas to improve meat processing standards;
