In a move stirring mixed reactions, the father of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Mr. Joseph Aloba, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for further investigation into his son’s death.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away in October 2023. Mr. Aloba claims the official cause of death remains unclear, and he desires a more thorough investigation. Additionally, he seeks funds to conduct a DNA test on his late son’s child, Liam.
The GoFundMe campaign specifically appeals to Nigerians seeking “justice for Mohbad.” This has drawn some criticism, with questions raised about the purpose of the DNA test and the allocation of donated funds.
Mr. Aloba previously stated his desire for a double DNA test “for authenticity” but hasn’t elaborated on suspicions surrounding Liam’s paternity.
