NANS rejects hiked tuition fees, demands immediate reversal
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has rejected the increment in tuition fees announced by the managements of tertiary institutions across the country.

The student body in a statement by the National Senate President of NANS, Elvis Ekundina on Sunday condemned the unjustified tuition fee hike and demanded immediate reversal.
The statement reads, “NANS is deeply troubled by the recent arbitrary hike in tuition fees across government- owned tertiary institutions.
“This decision places an undue burden on students already grappling with financial challenges, jeopardising their access to quality education.

“Education is a fundamental right, and the sudden increase in tuition fees, undermines the principles of accessibility and affordability.
“NANS vehemently condemns this action and calls on the relevant authorities to reconsider and promptly reverse the decision.
“The student body understands the financial constraints faced by institutions, but burdening students with exorbitant fees is not the solution.
“We urge the government and educational institutions to explore alternative means of addressing budgetary concerns without compromising the education of the nation’s youth.
“We stand united in advocating for fair and accessible education for all. We implore stakeholders to engage in transparent and inclusive dialogue with student representatives to find solutions that prioritize the welfare of students and preserve the integrity of our educational system.
“NANS is committed to actively engaging in peaceful advocacy to ensure that the voices of the student body are heard. We call on the government and educational authorities to prioritize the future of the nation by reconsidering this detrimental tuition fee hike”, the student body said.
