Nigerian Governor Approves N150k Christmas Bonus For Workers
Civil servants in Ebonyi State are set to receive a Christmas bonus of one hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦150,000.00)
This was announced by the State Governor, Francis Nwifuru.
This payment is scheduled to be disbursed before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, according to a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor.
Last year, the governor, alongside his colleagues from Lagos and Rivers states, offered ₦100,000 to civil servants to ease the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
Local government employees, who received ₦50,000 bonuses last year, are hopeful for a similar directive to their council chairmen.
Recently, the governor also raised the minimum wage in Ebonyi to ₦75,000, exceeding the federal government’s benchmark of ₦70,000, with additional increments for higher grades.
