OOPA 2024: Abokede, Opalola win Osun Women of Virtue Award of the year
The Osun Online Publishers award 2024 has recognised two outstanding women in Osun State, Mrs Funmi Abokede General Manager of Osun Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA); and CSP Yemisi Opalola Osun Police Command’s Spokesperson have received an award of excellence as Osun Women of Virtue 2024.
The award which Laud their effectiveness and devotion to their duty which majoly is their commitments to the development of the state and people at large, was organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) as part of the activities marking this year’s Osun Digital Media Week.
The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Tegbosun lll who was represented by Chief Duro Balogun of Kuta kingdom, presented the Award of Excellence to the CSDA General Manager Abokede while CSP Opalola received the award as presented by Abokede during a Public Lecture and Award Presentation on Thursday in Osogbo.
The public lecture organized by OOPA is titled ” The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Digital Media in the 21st Century,” and it provided valuable insights into how AI is transforming the digital media landscape, equipping members with knowledge and tools to navigate these changes effectively.
Reacting, Abokede appreciated the organizer of the award. She further explained how impactive CSDA across Osun, reassuring more dividends, especially at the grassroots and the people living with disabilities.
Meanwhile, Police Spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola gave kudos to the leadership and members of Osun Online Publishers in the state for the balanced reportage.
She further stated that her office will continue to work with the media even if she leaves the police Spokesperson position.
The event was attended by eminent personalities at Ben-Bar Event Centre, Osogbo where other categories of award recipients were in attendance.
