OSHA House Committee on Public Works Commends Gov. Adeleke’s Infrastructural Prowess
Osun State House of Assembly House Committee on Public Works has commended Gov. Ademola Adeleke for the massive Road infrastructural development ongoing in the state.
The House Committee on Public Works for the 8th Assembly led by the Committee Chairman, Hon Waheed Ibrahim representing Irewole/Isokan State Constituency said this while on oversight functions to some of the ongoing road constructions in Osogbo on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, host communities where projects are ongoing have been urged to embrace the contractors handling the projects.
The train of the Oversight Function kicked started at Akoda-Ede road where dualization which has reached Stonebase level was- going. The committee moved to Oke-gada Ede, Ido Odun axis through Dele Yes Sir roundabout to Oke-fia and terminated at Lameco area.
At different points where the committee stopped to check the level of work done on the construction sites, the committee chairman expressed satisfaction, commending the contractors for doing a fantastic job. He acknowledged the commitment of the contractors so far.
Shedding more lights on the bridge- locks and diversions, Hon Ibrahim admonished the host communities to be patient as development usually comes with little discomfort. The committee also implored the contractors to make the diversion signs more visible for road users to eradicate accidents on the road.
They charged the contractors to embrace quality control and work in line with the guidelines so that it can stand the test of time, adding that they should apply aesthetics to the finished structures.
The committee also applauded the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure for being cooperative and committed to the delivery of the job. The chairman speaks further.
“The bridge aspects of the road, I can see they have done the preliminaries for the bridge. They are casting. We have some breakers on the ground. The work is moving on smoothly. In due time, people will be able to enjoy the bridges as well”.
Director of Highways, Engr Maruf Ojebode, who led members from the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure noted that the duration for the projects is a year. He assured me that most of them would be completed before record times.
Engr Ojebode also appealed to citizens to comply with the contractor’s handling of the project in different site instructions to realize the target goals as all are stakeholders and end users of the infrastructural development.
Other members of the committee on Oversight Functions include Hon Abiola Awoyeye, Hon Adewumi Adeyemi, and Hon Olatunbosun Oyewole.
