OSHA Pass Bill of Rights on Youth, Sports and Special Needs on the Consideration of the Osun State Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) second reading

Osun Assembly has passed the Bill on Youth, Sports and Special Needs on the Consideration of the Osun State Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Bill 2024 into law.

 

Recall the bill which is a private member bill by Honourable Adewumi Adeyemi, lawmaker representing Obokun constituency, was presented on Tuesday 8th August 2023 and the bill passed its second reading on Tuesday 5th September 2023.

 

Presenting the report today at the floor of the house, the chairman of the committee, Hon. Abiola Awoyeye member representing Ife-central read the final report of the committee to the house and the house read the bill for the third hearing and it was passed to law by the lawmakers.

 

This bill is set to provide for the full integration of person with disabilities into society, establish the Osun State bureau of persons with disability and best in the bureau the responsibilities for their education, health care and well-being.

However, the passing of person with disability Bill 2024 into law is a significant step towards ensuring equality and inclusion for all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
