Osogbo Indigenes, Royal family, Protest Alleged Abuse Of Power By Ataoja
A group of people identified as indigenes of Osogbo, the Osun State Capital, have staged a peaceful protest against the alleged abuse of power by the Ataoja of Osogbo, Jimoh Olaonipekun.
The protest which reportedly took place along Gbemu junction, Osogbo was joined by some stakeholders and Osogbo royal families.
The protesters claimed that the traditional ruler compromised the culture and heritage of Osogbo for his selfish interest.
The monarch Ataoja was accused of appointing some individuals as traditional rulers in some communities against the will of the people of the communities.
In a video shared by TVC on Wednesday, November 20, the protesters were seen chanting some indigenous songs, alongside holding placards with various inscriptions.
