Osun Amotekun nabs night guard for stealing motorcycle

...as Corps Commander warned criminals to stay out of the State

Operatives of Osun Amotekun Corps has nabbed a 25- year- old night guard, Adebowale, for stealing a motorcycle belonging to a residence of Aratumi Community, Kelebe area in Osogbo.

He was arrested on Wednesday after committing the act at around 1 am during the routine patrol by men of the Amotekun Corps.

The Corps Commander of Amotekun, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi, who confirmed the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo on Wednesday, disclosed that Adewale was arrested after stealing a TVS motorcycle at Aratumi Community Kelebe Area of Osogbo.

Adewinmbi also revealed that it was in the course of carting away the motorcycle that the men of Amotekun who are on routine patrol saw him and apprehended the culprit.

Adewinmbi revealed that upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.

He however said, the suspect has been transferred to the police for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.

In the same vein, Commander Adewinmbi warned the criminal elements to stay out of Osun.

“We do not take anything that has to do with securing the lives of people and property lightly. We rapidly work on any piece of information that concerns security to ascertain whether it is genuine or not”.

“Amotekun is ready to expose criminals in their hiding places”. Adewinmbi asserted.

He urged the residents to reveal criminals in their neighborhoods to the Amotekun Corps to curb crime in society.
