Osun Assembly Considers People-Centered Bills on Witness Protection,Victim Assistance and Market Authority

The Osun State House of Assembly today introduced two people-centered bills focused on witness protection and victim assistance in the course of court cases.
The two major bills, which are private member bills sponsored by the Chief Whip, Hon. Olawale Akerele, are titled Osun State Victim Assistance and Witness Protection Bill 2025 and Osun State Market Authority Bill 2025.
Presiding over the sitting, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun presented the private member bills to the House.
Responding to the bills, Hon. Olawale Akerele gave a brief introduction of the two bills he is sponsoring. Additionally, the Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader, and Principal Member, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU, emphasized the need for the House to scrutinize and immediately pass the bills, identifying them as beneficial to the people.
Recall that Daily Impact previously reported on the Osun State House of Assembly’s presentation of the Osun Poly Health Technology of Science Ilesha Bill 2025, which seeks to upgrade the Health Technology School Ilesha into a polytechnic.
Dissolving into the Committee of the Whole, the lawmakers deliberated extensively on the Osun State Sports Commission Establishment Bill 2025.
Meanwhile, the vote and proceedings of the last sitting were adopted, and the House adjourned.
