Osun police arraign herdsman for stealing seven cows

A herdsman, Ibrahim Muhammad, on Monday, appeared before an Osun State Magistrate’s Court, sitting in Osogbo, for stealing seven cows.

Mohammed was said to have perpetrated the act under the pretence of assisting the owner to rear the animals.

Addressing the court, the police prosecutor, Bose Shoyemi, said the defendant “fraudulently obtained seven cows valued at N5m belonging to one Kazeem Ademola.”

According to her, the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Law of Osun State, 2002.

Mohammad pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The presiding magistrate, Mr O. Aluko, remanded the defendant in the Ilesa Custodial Centre and adjourned the matter till November 21 for hearing.
