Osun Speaker Admonishes Political Appointees, Public Servants on Accountability, Integrity

The Speaker of the Osun State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun has admonished political appointees and public servants in the state to place premium on accountability and integrity in their roles.
He gave the admonition while declaring open a three-day training programme for staff (career and political) of Osun State House of Assembly.
According to him: “Public service is a privilege that comes with immense responsibility. As public servants, we must hold ourselves to the highest standards of transparency and integrity while serving our constituents.”
The training programme themed “Towards Ensuring Effective and Efficient Legislative Service Delivery in Osun” and which has the backing of Governor Ademola Adeleke, aimed to enhance the skills of participants in legislative processes and effective communication.
The Speaker expressed appreciation for the governor’s commitment to professional development, saying, “His approval of this programme is a testament to our collective goal of improving governance in Osun State.”
In his address, Rt. Hon. Egbedun urged participants to fully engage in the training sessions, adding that: “This is a vital opportunity for all of you to acquire the knowledge necessary to meet the challenges of our roles.”
He stressed that learning should not only focus on skills but also on fostering a culture of accountability among public servants.
The Speaker recognised the importance of collaboration and networking among attendees, saying that: “I encourage you to share your experiences and insights. Remember, the strength of our democracy lies in our ability to support one another.”
While calling on the participants to embrace the training programme with dedication and enthusiasm, the speaker added: “Together, we can elevate the quality of governance in Osun State and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our people.”
