Osun State House of Assembly Speaker alluring legislative service motivates the NUJ Professional Award: Parliamentary Reporter of the year dedicates it to Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun
The euphoria of 2024, Osun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists awards nigt is still very much on air as encomium and accolades from different quarters has continued to pour in,for award recipients.
Speaking with the journalists after receiving parliamentary Reporter of the year award,the recipient OSBC correspondent in Osun State House of Assembly,Mr Oluwatosin Oladokun, noted that it can only be God,because it has been God all the way.
According to him, receiving such a laudable award from a professional body of the Nigeria Union of Journalists status speak volumes and it is a clarion call to redouble one’s energy, commitment and dedication to the job of journalism.
Mr Oluwatosin Oladokun explained that journalism is a profession that requires absolute attention,commitment, dedication,concentration,mental stability, patient and fact findings exercise and most essentially research in abundance,why because as a proverbial watchdogs of the society who saddled with the obligation of providing and ensuring that adequate,efficient and unbiased information are brought to the door steps of the all and sundry mistakes and misinformation in whatever forms do not permit no matter the circumstances.
He used the occasion to call on Nigerians especially the led and the lead to mobilize unwaivering support towards members of pen profession,noting that the significant role the media practitioners are playing in having a pragmatic and united nation can not be over emphasized.
The award recipient, therefore commended what he described legendary contribution and uncommon affinity for journalism which members of 8th Assembly of Osun State House of Assembly often demonstrates under the cultured,oratory,resourceful leadership of the Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun thereby dedicated the award to Right Honourable Adewale Egbedun.
Staff member of Osbc News and Current Affairs equally acknowledged the opportunity,management and staff of the state owned broadcast outfit provided for him under the DG/PS Mrs Jolade Igbaroola and by extension Special Adviser to governor Ademola Adeleke on OSBC Dr. Femi Adefila as well as Board Chairman OSBC conglomerate Engineer Mayowa Oloso stating that without them the award may not have been possible.
Mr Oluwatosin Oladokun had earlier appreciated the chairman house committee on media and public affairs Honourable Adekunle Oladimeji,Clerk of the house Mr Akinwale Amusan, an Ede born media manager and the incumbent deputy clerk information Mr Laide Lawal, deputy clerk legislative manager Mr Kolapo Sanusi,Chief Press Secretary to the speaker Mr. Olamide Tiamiyu and all his correspondent colleagues covering the House of Assembly session.
He applauded the comrade Wasiu Ajadosu NUJ chairmanship led exco just like the awards committee’s chairman and members for providing such a motivative opportunity for all the award recipients.
