Communique of the 12th Annual Synod of Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ijesa North: State of the Nation "NIGERIA" Methodist Synod Urges Reevaluation of Parental Training for National Rejuvenation
The Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ijesa North, advises that parents reassess their child-rearing methods, stressing its importance in rebuilding Nigeria.
This guidance was issued in a communique from the 12th Annual Synod, released by Synod Secretary Very Rev. Sunday O. Ajiboye and signed by Bishop Rt. Rev. Timothy O. Olatunji.
Under the theme “Arise and Build” (Nehemiah 2:18), the synod emphasized proactive steps for nation-building, echoing the sentiments of the national anthem.
The synod which was Held between May 17th to May 19th, 2024, at Ijeda Ijesa in Oriade local government area, Osun state, lamented Nigeria’s challenges, including unaffordable basic needs and declining security.
It underscored the pivotal role of parental training in shaping the youth who will shape the nation.
Additionally, the synod extended congratulations to Osun state’s Executive Governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, on his 64th birthday and applauded infrastructural progress.
Notably, the synod honored the late Bishop Williams Olusoji Fasina by renaming the church’s guest house after him, recognizing his service.
