Photos : By-Elections Ongoing in 26 States

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently conducting by-elections and rerun polls in 26 states.

The by-elections are a result of the death or resignation of members of the national and state assemblies, while rerun polls are court-ordered.

The elections are holding in 80 LGAs across 575 registration areas and 8,934 polling units.

The 26 states include Ebonyi, Yobe, Kebbi, Lagos, Ondo, Taraba, Benue, Borno, Kaduna, Plateau, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Cross River, Delta, Enugu, Jigawa, Katsina, Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Kano, Nasarawa, Niger, Oyo, Sokoto and Zamfara.

The commission had said there are 4,904,627 registered voters in the states, from which 4,613,291 permanent voter cards were collected.
